
Paul Mackenzie has been appointed chief operations officer of the International Marketing Council of South Africa (IMC), responsible for managing its day-to-day operations. The COO is a new position, created to add management capacity to the IMC as it continues to grow and expand its staffing numbers, projects and influence. The role of the COO includes planning; financial oversight and compliance; HR development; and operational management.
Prior to joining the IMC, Paul was general manager of the Centre for Development and Enterprise (CDE), a leading economic policy research and advocacy organisation. He has a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) in Johannesburg.
The IMC was established in 2000 to create a positive, united image for South Africa. Using the slogan, “South Africa: Alive with Possibility” its mission is to articulate a brand for South Africa in order to attract tourism, trade and investment and to build national support for Brand South Africa.
