The South African government’s programme of action for 2006 is available online.
Government Communications CEO Joel Netshitenzhe says this will allow the public to follow the programme’s implementation and make informed assessments of the government’s progress.
The programme, based on the decisions of a Cabinet meeting in January and the President’s State of the Nation Address in February, will be updated every two months as government clusters submit their progress reports to the Cabinet.
Timeframes
“In addition, as particular timeframes are reached, there will be public communication by relevant departments on details of implementation of the programme concerned,” Netshitenzhe said.
“It includes activities from the 2005 programme which were not completed last year, either because of timeframes that are still in the future or because of delays that are receiving attention in the new programme.”
