Why is Rolf a Social Innovator?

Rolf Papsdorf is a mechanical engineer, a maverick, an inventor and the founder and CEO of the Alternative Energy Development Corporation.

He could have pursued the six-figure salary and corner office but, luckily for us, his passion lies with empowering people across the globe to achieve a better quality of life.

In the last eight years, Rolf has invested his skills in business management to provide rural communities with access to affordable basic electricity while stimulating sustainable economic activity in these areas.

His company also provides alternative energy solutions to businesses, assisting them with reducing their costs and optimizing their performance.

At a time when South Africa is facing an energy crisis that threatens to stunt our economic and social growth, it’s good to know we have people like Rolf working on an affordable alternative.
