Why is David a Trailblazer?

David Kramer is not your average museum curator. Flying in the face of convention, he has been heralded as a modern-day pioneer at the forefront of preserving and showcasing the best that maths and science has to offer.

Thanks to David, what used to be the Electric Warehouse in Newtown, Johannesburg has been transformed into the revolutionary Sci-Bono Discovery Centre – the largest of its kind in Africa.

Characterised by hands-on exhibits, science stage shows and innovative workshops, Sci-Bono Discovery Centre provides uniquely designed “edu-tainment” for people from all walks of life.

Unlike the traditional static museum model of “look but don’t touch”, the Sci-Bono centre guarantees a tangible experience – typified by the incredible 1 200 square metre Science Tunnel.

“Our job is to change both attitudes and capacity in maths and science. We’ve got to get kids enthusiastic about what maths and science can do for them in the future.
